Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an International Driving Permit to drive in Japan?
Yes. All drivers must carry a valid Indian driving licence and an International Driving Permit in booklet format. Japan does not accept the credit card-style IDP issued in India.
Can I join if I do not want to drive?
Yes. This is a self-drive convoy experience, but participants may join as passengers. Driving is only for those with the required licence and IDP.
What kind of cars will be used?
The preferred convoy vehicles include full-size all-wheel-drive models such as Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Lexus LX, Toyota Alphard, or similar premium AWD vehicles, depending on availability.
How many people will be in each car?
Each vehicle is planned for 3–4 people, keeping the group comfortable, intimate, and convoy-friendly.
Is this a luxury trip?
It is a premium curated expedition rather than a standard luxury hotel tour. The focus is on boutique stays, ryokan experiences, curated driving, cultural depth, and founder-led storytelling.
Is the itinerary physically demanding?
Moderate fitness is recommended. Some days include long drives, temple walks, city exploration, and the Snow Monkey Park trail, which involves a scenic uphill forest walk.
Is Hiroshima part of the road trip?
Yes, but Hiroshima is planned as a Shinkansen day trip from Kyoto. The convoy cars remain in Kyoto for that day.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation charges apply based on the stage of booking, visa process, and proximity to departure. Please refer to the detailed policy shared during booking.
